The bond between man and land is built on delicate balances, which form the foundation of every terroir's uniqueness. The land does not belong to those who cultivate it; it is a shared heritage with future generations. This awareness has led us to adopt conservation agriculture in managing our vineyards. We preserve the balance of our plots by implementing low-impact strategies aimed at maintaining the original characteristics of the soil.
Our goal is to preserve the original conditions of the vineyards and their ecosystem. Our dream is to see future generations continue this ambitious project.
We minimize interventions to reduce soil compaction and impermeability, employing cover crops followed by grassing to prevent erosion, improve water availability, and increase organic matter in the soil. Expert personnel carry out pruning to respect the vines, ensuring lower yields in favor of higher quality. These measures, combined with the adoption of organic farming since 2018, help preserve this delicate ecosystem and enhance biodiversity in our vineyards.
Driven by the desire to explore the potential of achieving quality while adhering to the principles of organic farming and completing a journey of environmental sustainability, Cantina Monteci began a process of organic conversion applied to all its vineyards in 2015.
